Upper Silesian Agency for Enterprises Restructuring Co. (GAPP) – PL

GAPP was founded in 1994 as an organization supporting government actions. Its primary objective is to develop entrepreneurship in the Silesian region and participate in its restructuring by creating methods and instruments which increase competitiveness and support entrepreneurship. This is happening by GAPP’s active participation in projects focused on the economic transformation of the region and co-operation with institutions focusing on regional policy programme, especially local authorities and regional development agencies.
Upper Silesia is a post-industrial and post-mining region seeking new way of development and transformation into new technology center. In compliance with this process, GAPP implemented several projects to stir up Silesian post-industrial potential (industrial parks, technology incubators etc.)
GAPP current activities include:

  • Spatial planning of infrastructure investments part-financed from ERDF
  • Revitalisation of  coal-mining and post-industrial areas
  • Management of two industrials parks and a technology incubator supported from the EU funds

GAPP includes within its structure Regional Centre of Technology Transfer and manages tourist, medical and rail transport clusters. It also leads Silesian Incubator Network.
