The Consorzio per l’AREA di Ricerca Scientifica e Tecnologica di Trieste (AREA) main mission is to manage AREA Science Park - the multisector Italian leading science & technology park - as well as to play the role of a regional hub for valorization of research results. AREA offers valued capacities and experience in developing measures for increasing industry innovation level and competitiveness by managing and diffusing innovation techniques, promoting knowledge and technology transfer as well as establishing collaborative networks and international partnerships.

AREA:

• Promotes innovation and technology transfer
• Manages high-level training and education on entrepreneurial issues
• Facilitates access to public funds for RTD and innovation development
• Offers in-house technical, financial, business and marketing consultancy
• Manages national and international joint RTD programs
• Promotes investments in technology-oriented business
• Fosters the creation of technology clusters, national and international partnerships and business networks

AREA manages several projects concerning innovation practices, multisector research, innovation management, technology transfer, high tech business development and capacity building that involve national and international knowledge and innovation agents. In particular, AREA has set up and manages the Innovation Network, a regional network of competence centres for innovation in regional industry and for multi-sector technology transfer. AREA, due to its longstanding experience, will play the role of CEBBIS project promoter and coordinator and will take the responsibility of the overall Project Management.
