What is digital manufacturing?
Digital Manufacturing (also know as Rapid
Prototyping is a specialized technology applied mainly for execution of
prototypes and readymade products with the aid of computer equipment
generating 3-dimensional digital records of the products to be
executed. The computer equipment itself is in turn integrated with
processing assembly which forms the requested shape of the product of
requested physical properties. Although the technology emerged at the
end of the 20th century it still develops very dynamically and therefore
it may be still considered as innovative. Digital Manufacturing may be
very useful in speeding up the process of designing new products at low
cost.
