Ales Vlk is a managing partner at a company ALEVIA and an external expert for projects administered by the Ministry of Education and focused on efficiency of institutions and knowledge transfer.



Ales Vlk graduated in sociology at the Charles University in Prague in 1998 and received his PhD in higher education policy in 2006 at the University of Twente in the Netherlands.

He worked as a research trainee at the Centre for Higher Education Policy Studies in the Netherlands and also shortly at the European University Association in Brussels as a project manager (2002). In 2003 he joined the Investment and Business Development Agency CZECHINVEST as an advisor to the CEO in the areas such as human resources development, education policy, research and development and the cooperation between educational institutions and industry. During 2006-2007 was appointed an advisor to the Minister of Education with the focus on coordination of the EU Structural Funds 2007-13 programming period.

Since 2008 he is a managing partner of a company ALEVIA and at the same time working as an external expert for projects administered by the Ministry of Education focused on efficiency of institutions and knowledge transfer. Among other activities he was also a team member of the Strategy of Economic Growth of the Czech Republic, external expert of the governmental Council on Human Resources Development and lecturer on strategic management for the university management of the Russian Federation.
