What is CEBBIS project?

The CEBBIS project intends to create a transnational structure of specialized and cross-functional skilled organizations able to effectively manage industrial innovation and technology-intensive enterprise growth and competitiveness by means of actions focused on clients and end-users and driven by territorial institutions.

Our goal

The main objective of CEBBIS is to strengthen the economic base of the regions involved by increased transfer of technology, competitiveness and trade on transnational level. The project aims at removing bottlenecks in the diffusion and application of innovation to ensure a broader access to knowledge transmitted by key players like intermediaries in the area covered. The partners’ ambition is to contribute to building sustainable transnational structures; increasing cohesion within the programme area by developing and mainstreaming the capacities of key-players working with the respective clusters and knowledge-based companies.

Our strategy is to

  1. Undertake a primary benchmarking action between the regional / national project intermediaries and identify the best practices in technology transfer to stimulate transnational flow of knowledge about approaches and tools for exchange mechanisms in regions involved.
  2. Establish an ICT-based transnational network of innovation intermediaries (like technology parks, business centres, university-based support centres, clusters, integrative sectoral competence centres, branch-oriented service offices, TTOs). This network will be used to enhance transnational cooperation of SMEs and research institutions to create transnational preconditions for increased access to high-level technologies.
  3. Develop an optimal transnational model for innovation support designed for innovation intermediaries to optimize access to scientific knowledge.
  4. Establish best-practice based set of tools and methods for intermediaries to set up and intensify applied-oriented cooperation between business and research
  5. Prepare and implement new concept of Business Development Organisation (BDO) based on pilot actions to optimise main outputs of CEBBIS (transnational model, toolbox) supporting in optimised manner ICT-driven innovation support, technology transfer and product dissemination
  6. Develop implementation policy recommendations in the form of trans-national Memorandum to be integrated into innovation policies in regions involved
  7. Launch a dissemination and awareness campaign during the project lifetime

Why is CEBBIS different from any other network fostering innovation for SMEs?

  • CEBBIS offers regional branch based innovation support based on new ICT applications
  • CEBBIS sees innovation as a process/ chain involving different actors whose contribution is crucial to execute any innovation project involving SMEs . CEBBIS identifies the different participants within this chain re-considering and enhancing their roles within the innovation process – clarifying their duties and responsibilities.
  • CEBBIS assesses existing technology transfer solutions and detects and bridges the gaps in innovation methods developed for SMEs. The main expectet outcome is a toolbox consisting of manual, guidelines and training modules that cover the innovation process for SMEs and all the steps that intermediaries and SMEs need to make to successfully carry out innovation activities on organizational, regional and international level.
  • CEBBIS partner structure consists of 11 organizations from Germany, Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia and Poland representing different roles within the innovation process. This diversity of roles and nationalities strengthens the CEBBIS network enabling the effective dissemination of project results throughout Central Europe.
  • CEBBIS network outputs will be reported to decision makers as well as to key-players on European level in the form of a trans-national Memorandum.
